Nolan's Christmas program was held at Good Shepherd Preschool today. His class is made up of three and four year olds, of which he is one of the youngest. Nolan's comparative rank in age is not typically perceivable except on rare occasions. Today's program just such an occasion.
The program started off with a collective song comprised of all age groups, bells in hand, singing 'Jingle Bells' while their teachers worked to prop each child into position. Most children entered with a searching smile, examining the audience for Mom or Dad's face. Nolan's face had 'nap' written all over it. He carried his bells like a briefcase, low and still, moping to the platform.
Nolan's class was among those who sat after the opening song, listening to the individual class's performances. When Nolan's class was up to sing, the boys and girls took the stage.
When they were done singing, 'Behold The Lamb,' Nolan spotted us in the auditorium and left his class behind, coming to Michelle and I. We held him as his class sang some of their songs. His mood shifted when Michelle suggested that he could see himself 'on the computer' tonight if he wanted to continue singing. It did the trick!
I hope you enjoy this as much as we did, both the music and the transformation of attitude. We're proud of our Nolan Charles! More pictures below.
Take care,
Paul
